Welcome to my home on the web

This site first came in to being in the second half of 2002 when I wrote Fighting to live. It was around that time that I first started thinking there had to be more to life than that which I was currently experiencing.

I had been told by so many "professionals" that I would never amount to anything in life. According to these people I was never going to be able to stand on my own two feet, would never live a normal life in any way, never be a proper member of society, and no way was I ever going to be able to hold down paid employment. They made it seem as if my only option was to crawl away and die quietly rather than expect others to waste their time trying to help me.

For a long time I believed what was said about me and let their interpretation of me control my life. After all, these people were highly qualified experts so they had to be correct in what they were saying...

I existed day to day, one day merged into the next with nothing ever changing, nothing ever improving. The outside world was scary and dangerous so I kept myself indoors with the curtains closed; didn't answer the door or phone, as little contact with others as I could get away with - I was safe and secure, I thought. No one could hurt me.

What I didn't realise was that I was being imprisoned and hurt by the very person that should have cared about me the most; myself. Eventually I realised that what other people thought of me was not important, the only opinion that mattered was the one I held of myself and at that point, I began to grow Stronger.

These pages have been written at various stages of my journey. I am sharing them with the intention of helping others see that they too can turn their lives around, no matter how much other people doubt them.

"Isn't man an amazing animal? He kills wildlife - birds, kangaroos, deer, all kinds of cats, coyotes, beavers, groundhogs, mice, foxes and dingoes - by the million in order to protect his domestic animals and their feed. Then he kills domestic animals by the billion and eats them. This in turn kills man by the millions, because eating all those animals leads to degenerative - and fatal - health conditions like heart disease, kidney disease, and cancer. So then man tortures and kills millions more animals to look for cures for these diseases. Elsewhere, millions of other human beings are being killed by hunger and malnutrition because food they could eat is being used to fatten domestic animals. Meanwhile, some people are dying of sad laughter at the absurdity of man, who kills so easily and so violently, and once a year, sends out cards praying for Peace on Earth."
